Defining Autism

Read the two human definitions of autism at the end of the lesson. Written by Gunilla and Kim at the Autism Network International web site, these insights into the perceptions of persons with autism may better help you understand how to interact with offenders with autism.
Evaluate the articles and write about two or three thoughts or feelings they discuss that may govern how they react with others or their environment. Include with those thoughts or feelings an idea of what characteristics or reactions they may exhibit in a situation involving you as a professional within the criminal justice system.
